SONG OF MYSELF

S.O.M Project is an artistic project born in Barcelona in 2014 as the result of a shared search and an understanding of the performative event between Javier Cárcel and Ferran Echegaray.

Its primary objective is the development of a rigorous and continuous work methodology, as well as the creation of performances. We focus, on the one hand, on work with songs, as well as texts (both ancient and contemporary), dance, rhythm, and musicality, and on the other, on the work about the basic elements that make up the actor's craft such as physical action, drive, organicity, presence, vigilant attention, training, movement, and composition, among others.

S.O.M Project is a meeting place where craft and the theatrical act become a means of search and development both for the actor and for the human being with all his potentialities. A work ethic that is based on the understanding that art and life are not unrelated, but are part of the same paradigm.
