"Fuenteovejuna; Brief Treatise on Domestic Sheep" is the story of the famous town that, tired of the atrocities of a corrupt commander and rapist, decides to unite to fight and finally kill his oppressor. While the action is taking place, the actors comment and give their opinion on this specific event, based on a real situation (Crónica de Rades S.XVI) in which Lope was inspired.
Fuenteovejuna is a fast-paced show that necessarily tells us the story of Fuenteovejuna, from a contemporary point of view. While the story of the famous town that decides to unite to fight and finally kill its oppressor takes place, the actors comment and give their opinion about the facts, they ask questions and question the viewers. They themselves are victims and guilty of what they are narrating, a story that is constantly repeated.
